Our Lady’s College, Greenhills 5-5
Sacred Heart 3-7
Our Lady’s Greenhills U14 GAA team were victorious today in a high-quality match against an extremely tough Sacred Heart team! From the outset to the final whistle, the Greenhills students did the school proud by showcasing their skills of determination, strength, passion and most importantly teamwork.
Our defenders could not be faulted, they were exemplary, and every single player showcased incredible battling and determination.
Captain Grace McWeeney, Alana Byrne Taaffe and the outstanding Yvie Sharkey led by example in the middle of the field and covered every blade of grass on the pitch.
Even with the crossbar as our enemy, (striking it 6 times in total), our exceptional forward line could not be stopped and scored an impressive 5-5 in today’s game. Big mention to our half forward line who put in an incredible shift and showcased their fitness for the full 60minutes.
Our substitutes kept our drive and brought another level of passion and resilience to the panel and were outstanding. Special mention to players who came to play pivotal roles they aren’t used to in other positions.
Our star keeper Libby Halligan made a crucial save at the games end to ensure a Greenhills victory.
To our full panel of 70+ students, the work we do in training shows on the field. Huge mention to the entire squad for their continuous efforts and dedication. Our next game will be played next week so let’s keep our composure, get back training and maintain this effort.
Let’s go Greenhills!
