Farewell Mr Ronan Coone.
It has been a week of mixed emotions here in Our Lady’s College as we said goodbye to our Deputy Principal, Mr Ronan Coone. Ronan has been appointed to the position of Principal of O'Connell School, Dublin. His position in this new role began on Tuesday, September 1st so on Monday August 31st, we sadly had to say goodbye to a man who has given so much to staff and students here in Greenhills and to the wider Greenhills community. We are all delighted for Ronan as he takes this exciting next step in his career, but we are very sorry to see him leave after twelve years of outstanding service as Deputy Principal.
Throughout his time in Our Lady's College, Greenhills, Ronan has made an exceptional contribution to the development of our school. His leadership, vision and dedication have helped shape many of the significant advances we have made over the past decade. He has consistently placed students at the centre of his work and has played a key role in creating the supportive, inclusive and ambitious learning environment that exists today.
Ronan's impact can be seen across every aspect of school life. His work with our AEN and LCA teams strengthened supports for students and families, while his leadership in School Self Evaluation and improvement helped advance learning and teaching throughout the school. He was also instrumental in the development of sport and student wellbeing, most notably through the creation of our AstroTurf pitch, a lasting legacy that will benefit generations of students.
Beyond these achievements, Ronan has been a trusted leader, valued colleague and supportive friend to many members of staff. His professionalism, integrity, good humour and commitment to the values of our school have earned him enormous respect throughout the entire school community.
On behalf of the Board of Management, our staff, students, parents and the wider school community, we thank Ronan sincerely for his exceptional service and commitment over the past twelve years. Although he will be greatly missed by colleagues and students alike, we are proud to see him take up this well-deserved appointment.
We congratulate Ronan on his appointment as Principal of O'Connell School and wish him every success, happiness and fulfilment in this new chapter of his professional journey.
