Beth Roche 5th Year - Finalist in National Cookery Competition

Congratulations to Beth Roche (TY) on getting through to the “Taste of Home National Cookery Competition.” She is one of eight finalists in the senior category selected by a panel of external judges. The competition takes place in Munster Technological University, Bishopstown, Co. Cork on Friday, February 27th. To quote the judges: ‘This is a wonderful achievement, you should be very proud of yourself to be one of the chosen finalists’.

🥘 What will she do? Beth will prepare, cook and serve: Roasted pork fillet, served with a creamy colcannon, fried black pudding , honey glazed carrots and parsnips accompanied by an apple sauce and garnished with sprigs of fresh rosemary.

🧑‍🍳 Who are the Judges? Chefs Shane Smith and Kate Lawlor will have two supporting judges from Blas na hÉireann - Artie Clifford(Chairperson) and Joseph Kerry(Academic director). The judges will ask the participants questions during the competition.

🏆 What are the prizes? The 1st and 2nd place winners will receive a trophy, a cookbook signed by Nevin Maguire and culinary equipment from the Neven Maguire cookware range. Also 1st and 2nd place winning teachers will receive culinary equipment from the Neven Maguire cookware range.
