Monday 20 November 2023 North East Rugby Blitz Our Lady's College, Greenhills participated in the North East blitz on Monday in Ashbourne RFC. This was the first tournament for the Junior Rugby team to take part in. They have been training hard since the start of the year and this was the squads first ever tournament. It was a brilliant day, with some standout performances across the pitch. The team played three games and came out with the win in two. This was a historic day for the team. Well done to everyone involved and looking forward to the next tournament already!

Friday 10 November 2023 Developing Photography in Greenhills Budding photographers in Our Lady’s College are getting to grips with reportage and documentary photography as they hone their skills working with natural and studio light and learning the art of composition in the school’s growing Photography Club.

Monday 23 October 2023 3rd year student Juthika Bhatka - Children's Book Festival Ireland 2023 3rd year student Juthika Bhatka had her winning artwork, 'Dunluce Castle' on display at the Children's Book Festival Ireland 2023. Juthika 's winning artwork, was selected among winners to feature for the exhibition in the Hollyhill Library, Co. Cork. Well done Juthika.

Tuesday 3 October 2023 Greenhills Girls German Adventure Accompanied by their German teachers Bettina Wuerdinger and Karin O’Hare, 21 students ranging in age from 15 to 18 from Our Lady’s College, Greenhills travelled recently to the city of Solingen for the German leg of the exchange programme between the Drogheda school and Friedrich Albert Lange Schule.

Wednesday 20 September 2023 Celebrating Sporting Achievement Encouraging girls’ participation in sport is an important aspect of the mission of Our Lady’s College. Recognising the invaluable contribution that being active makes to general physical and mental wellbeing, students at the school are encouraged to participate in one or more of a range of sports on offer in the school including Gaelic football, camogie, soccer, basketball, volleyball, rugby and athletics. Golfers are also encouraged to participate in schools’ competitions. The school also recognises and encourages student participation in a wide range of team and individual sporting pursuits outside school.

Thursday 14 September 2023 Former Student Peidi Li Wins Prestigious Scholarship Greenhills student Peidi Li has been awarded a prestigious All-Ireland scholarship in recognition of her marvellous results in Leaving Certificate 2022. The award will cover Peidi Li’s fees for the full duration of her undergraduate studies in Mathematics with a Modern Language at Trinity College.

Friday 8 September 2023 1st Year Art- Monochromatic Our 1st years have been producing some beautiful monochromatic work in the Art rooms this week. These soft pastel studies of various fruits create a 3D effect through students’ understanding and application of highlights, midtones and shadows. We love seeing all of the unique styles emerging! ?? ?? ??

Friday 8 September 2023 New Photography Studio - Watch This Space! TY students tasked with up cycling old canvases into photography backdrops. They will be a great addition to our new photography studio which is in the process of being developed.

Tuesday 5 September 2023 New Girls in Greenhills The sun was shining for a new generation of Greenhills’ girls as a fresh batch of students passed through the gates of the school for the first time at the end of August. Greeted by principal Geraldine Mulvihill and first year Head Elaine Mills, the girls enjoyed two days of induction during which time they were welcomed and given an introduction to all aspects of school life as well as a tour of the school and campus.

Friday 28 April 2023 Greenhills Student Wows Judges with her take on “Chicken Manchurian” Our Lady’s College TY student, Christa Gigi, beat off stiff competition in the Healthy Home Chef All Island Cookery Competition to achieve first place in the competition’s senior category held recently at the National Centre of Excellence in Sligo.

Monday 24 April 2023 Batteries for Barretstown The Green-Schools committee are holding a ‘Battery Blitz Day’ in aid of Barretstown this Wednesday 26th April. Barretstown helps rebuild lives affected by childhood cancer. Every battery recycled will go towards a donation fund.

Wednesday 1 March 2023 Senior History Trip to Munich and Nuremberg The Senior History trip to Munich and Nuremberg took place from 18th – 21st February. Twenty five students accompanied by their history teachers arrived in Munich for two hectic days of activity. On the first day the group visited Dachau Concentration Camp and received an excellent guided tour of the camp. Dachau was the first concentration camp opened by Hitler in March 1933. Over 200,000 prisoners came to Dachau, and over 42,000 died there , before it was finally liberated by the American army on 29th April 1945, the day before Hitler’s death. This visit included a visit to the two crematoria used to cremate the prisoners who died in Dachau ; and also the gas chamber built in Dachau (although there is no evidence that any gassings ever took place there). In the afternoon there was a visit to the Jewish Museum in Munich, recently constructed in 2005, to commemorate the Jewish community who lived in Munich before the Nazi regime, and also to commemorate and remember the Jew

Friday 10 June 2022 Juthika Bhakta - National Fossils Art Contest Following on from the success of winning the Texaco Art Competition, 1st year Juthika Bhakta has won a Highly Commended Award in the National Fossils Art Contest. The award was presented at a ceremony in the Glucksman Art Gallery in University College Cork. Well done on this fantastic achievement we are all very proud of Juthika here in Our Lady's College, Greenhills.

Sunday 1 May 2022 Ukraine Appeal Today the students, staff, parents, and Fr Colm from The Augustinian community put together a van load of materials for those in need on the Ukrainian border. Over the weeks medical equipment, clothes and much more was collected in the school, in Maher’s chemist and in the Augustinian church. The van was packed today and is travelling to Ukraine on Thursday. Best of luck and a safe journey to John Mc Govern as he travels across Europe to deliver the supplies. The school would like to thank all those who contributed and we pray that peace prevails sooner rather than later in Ukraine.

Saturday 25 December 2021 Christmas Day Music in Augustinian Some of our past and present students of the Music Department took time out of their Christmas morning to play music at the 12 o'clock mass in the Augustinian. The girls are credit to their families and to our school. Well done to all involved and a very special thanks to Fr Colm and Fr Declan and the other members of the Augustinian community who look after the students so well on a cold and wet Christmas morning.

Monday 13 December 2021 Lighting the 3rd Candle of Advent. This morning in Our Lady's College, students and teachers celebrated through music and words, the lighting of the 3rd candle of Advent.

Friday 3 December 2021 Lighting the Advent Calendar On Wednesday students and teachers held a ceremony to celebrate the beginning of Advent. With Covid restrictions still in place, the ceremony took place with a small number of students in the main hall. It was a brief glimpse of how we here in Greenhills would celebrate such an event pre-covid. Music was performed on the day and all proceedings were shared with the whole school over the intercom.

Thursday 25 November 2021 Planting Bulbs on Remembrance Walkway Over 800 bulbs were planted by various different class groups on our Remembrance Walkway. We look forward to all the wonderful colours appearing along the walkway next Spring.
