Cross Country / Fun Running
September and February
Cross country and fun running takes place between September and February during Tuesdays and lunchtimes.
Students can run between 1 mile to 5km
There are competitions for all types of runners.
In 2015 we attended the Clonliffe Harriers Invitational, DCU invitational, North Leinster Championships and Leinster Championships (we have also competed in Drogheda and District Championships and the Meath Championships in other years)
Track & Field / Fun Running
March – May
Training Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime
Track: Sprints, Middle Distance, Hurdles, Relays
Field: Discus, Javelin, Shot, Long Jump
Competitions for those interested (including the High Jump for Club athletes)
Competitions include the Meath Track & Field Championships in Navan, North Leinster and Leinster Championships in Santry Stadium.
Goal Mile Challenge
Transition Year’s Sport Science Class organized a Mile Challenge in December 2014.
486 students took the challenge with times ranging from 6.21min to 17.00 min.
All participants received a coloured wristband:
U 8 min red
U 9 min yellow
U 10 min green
U 11 min blue
Over 11min purple
