The third annual cup cake decorating competition for TY students took place in Our Lady, College, Greenhills on Thursday and Friday, the 2nd and 3rd of February. This is open to all the schools in the Drogheda area.
The competition was organised by the Home Economics Department in Our Lady’s College. Its aims are to encourage students to experience home baking and decorating and in particular demonstrate creativity.
Each school held their own school competition to determine who went forward to the semi-finals, which were held on Thursday. The best eight cupcakes were chosen to go forward to the finals on Friday morning. A high level of creativity was evident with great execution of skill.
Students from St. Mary’s Diocesan School, St. Oliver’s Community College, Coaiste na hinse The Sacred Heart, the Grammar School and Our Lady’s College, Greenhills took part.
There was great excitement with the announcement of the winners for “the Great Drogheda Bake Off “of 2017. The girls from the Sacred Heart took first place and Our Lady’s college were placed second. .
